At the gateway to Brittany , near Vitré, Rennes, Fougères and Mont Saint Michel, surrounded by the peaceful countryside of Val-d’Izé, Manoir de la Nogrie is a characterful manor house dating back to 1690.
Just a few steps away, La Grange was completely reimagined in 2020 to become a bright, warm and welcoming country house.
Its timber structure, large windows overlooking the garden and renovation using eco-friendly materials create a warm, contemporary atmosphere with an elegant country-chic feel.
Perfect for a romantic getaway, a family holiday or a stay with friends, La Grange welcomes 2 to 8 guests, with four bedrooms , a landscaped garden, a spacious wooden terrace and pergola, and a private hot tub heated to 37°C all year round. During the warmer months, guests can also enjoy the Manor’s heated swimming pool.
For an overnight stay or a stopover for two while exploring the region, the Manor Bedroom offers a more intimate alternative, with its own private entrance, en-suite bathroom and small wooden terrace.
New for summer 2027 : La Grange will be fully air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable stay even on the hottest summer days.
Every detail has been carefully considered to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive: thoughtful interiors, high-quality bedding, washed cotton and linen, soft lighting, the peace of the countryside, and the warm, cocooning atmosphere that makes La Nogrie such a special place to stay.

OUR STORY
The Manoir de la Nogrie is, above all, a story of family, heritage and hospitality.
More than thirty years ago, we fell in love with this property nestled in the countryside just outside Vitré. Within its stone walls, we built our family life, watched our three children grow up, and shared countless happy moments. Over time, this home became much more than a house; it became a place filled with life, warmth and a deep connection to its surroundings.
After studying tourism and gaining experience in luxury hospitality, Stéphanie had long dreamed of creating a place where travellers from all over the world would feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
In 2020, that dream came to life with the renovation of the estate's former barn. Designed as an elegant and comfortable retreat, the cottage was created to offer peace, privacy and well-being in an authentic setting.
The renovation and interior design were carefully overseen by Stéphane, a project manager and founder of Teraa www.teraa.fr with great respect for the spirit and character of the property. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create an atmosphere that is refined, welcoming and timeless.
Today, we have the pleasure of welcoming guests from all walks of life. The encounters, conversations and stories shared along the way enrich every stay and give true meaning to this adventure.
More than simply a place to stay, Manoir de la Nogrie is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and fully embrace the present moment.
Our greatest satisfaction is knowing that, for the duration of a stay, this special place becomes the setting for treasured memories, meaningful moments and experiences that remain long after the journey has ended.

Where are we ?
La Grange is located in Val-d’Izé, in the peaceful Brittany countryside, just a few minutes from Vitré.
An ideal location for enjoying the peace and beauty of the countryside while remaining within easy reach of the region’s main attractions.
We are just 10 minutes from Vitré and its TGV high-speed train station, 20 minutes from Fougères, 30 minutes from Rennes and around 35 minutes from Rennes Airport.
In less than an hour, you can discover the Mont-Saint-Michel or reach Brittany’s beautiful Emerald Coast and its beaches.
A wonderful base for exploring Brittany while enjoying a peaceful, green countryside setting.
When La grange goes to the movies
In 2022, during the filming of Complètement cramé ! at the nearby Domaine du Bois Cornillé, we had the pleasure of welcoming John Malkovich, who made La Grange his home in Brittany for almost two months.
It was, of course, a rather special stay, marked by discretion and simplicity, and one that remains a very fond memory in the story of La Grange.
Before he left, we captured the moment with a photograph together in front of the house — a treasured keepsake that we remain particularly fond of.
